Gavin Brucknell

Gavin Brucknell (born June 7, 1974) is a Welsh professional wrestler. He is currently signed by Pro Wrestling Unplugged, wrestling as Triple W. Brucknell's ring name Triple W comprises of his nickname, the Welsh Wrestling Wizard.

Career

Brucknell was trained in 1999 for the first time by Welsh Definitive Fighting Action, a small Wrexham organisation of Mixed Martial Arts. He made his first wrestling appearance in 2001 during Welsh Super Stars Wrestling, where he defeated two unknown opponents in a Triple Threat Match to become the number 1 contender for the WSSW Amateur Championship, the third-highest ranked title in WSSW. He lost his title match, and during this time changed his ring name from his real name to Richard Superstar. This name would last until 2002, when he quit WSSW in search of a wrestling career in England. After holding the WSSW Welsh Tag Team Championship once with Tyson Roberts, Brucknell failed to win any more titles.

After gaining valuable experience at WDFA and WSSW, he went for further training at the FWA Academy. He eventually left, but after picking up more experience, he joined NWA UK Hammerlock in 2005. He has yet to score any title victories, but he spends a lot of time in the United States, where he appeared once in a dark match on Ring of Honor, losing to Nigel McGuinness, and in early 2007 he won the CAWE Wrestling Championship twice in New Jersey, while briefly working for Caribbean American Wrestling Exchange. He also won the 3XW Heavyweight Championship once, while working for 3 Xtreme Wrestling. He is currently inactive, and appears to surplus to requirements with NWA UK Hammerlock. In the USA, he used the ring name Gavin Crow for a year, until 2007, when he was redubbed as Fantom. He is the current DDTX Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, a title which he has won four times in Ohio as Fantom, in the tiny Double Dreaded Toprope Xtreme Wrestling promotion. On December 30 2007, Brucknell joined the Pro Wrestling Unplugged roster, confirming his departure from the NWA UK Hammerlock promotion. On January 2 2008, Brucknell confirmed that he would employ a new ring name of Triple W, while working for Pro Wrestling Unplugged, and he will turn face for the first time since 2004. Due to a more full time commitment with Pro Wrestling Unplugged, he has decided to relinquish the DDTX Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. Brucknell is a 7-time Heavyweight Champion, and he says he wants to add a major World Title before he retires.
