Galaxy chat

Galaxy (chat) is a mobile social network presented as an interactive java-chat with characters. Each user designs a character (Galactian) and can move it to different Planets (chat rooms) created by users according to their interests. Gala is owned and operated by Mobstudio. The service began in 2007 in Russia and at present time numbers more than 6 mln users from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries of the CIS.
To begin chatting in Galaxy user CREATES a character by selecting one of suggested looks and setting its nickname and [...]. Various looks let a user make his or her character not only a boy or a girl but also some monster with a blue body and a bull head, for instance. A character has its owner’s personal details including uploaded photos. Planets in Galaxy are chat rooms with certain names. Planets are created by users according to topics users discuss there and controlled by their owners. Users can fly from one Planet to another and find people interested in the same things. Planet looks like a chat window above and a line of characters online on this Planet below. By clicking some character a user can do some action to this character, e.g. “give a friendly hug”, tell him/her something, view personal details, etc.
Life in Galaxy is controlled by Galactians who can have Privileges in the chat (Developers, Moderators, Censors, etc.). Each Galactian can achieve some Privilege if he/she satisfies requirements. Thereby he/she gets more opportunities in the chat and helps developers to make the work of Galaxy better.
Chatting is not the only action in Galaxy. Users create clans, marry other Galactians, keep pets, play various games etc. With all these the chat becomes not just means of communication but a virtual community of people of different age and social status.
