Fuzzy Logic (band)
Fuzzy Logic are a five piece experimental rock grime outfit based in East London, England. The band consists of Darwood Grace (Vocals), Jack Hearne (Guitar), Ben Lewis (Bass), Daniel Servante (Synth) and Nicodemus Flower (Drums, Backing Vocals).
History
Formed in October 2007, Fuzzy Logic have been building up a strong fanbase in the UK with their energetic live performances and the demos given away at their gigs.
Lead singer Darwood Grace is also an actor, having appeared in films such as Cab Hustle and Fresh Off The Boat, a 2009 short film written and directed by Adulthood star Femi Oyeniran, nominated as part of the 2009 Film London 'Best of Boroughs' awards. Darwood has recently directed a documentary featuring Femi called Cut The Chat. Darwood's poetic performances were developed in poetry group '3plus1' with Floetry singer Natalie Stewart and solo video "Gritty City". As well as featuring on track "Death B4" from DJ Wonder's 2009 release "Welcome To Wonderland", Darwood also performed under the moniker Ddot7 releasing music video "Ibble Bobble", which ended up being banned from Channel U (Channel AKA), due to controversial content.
Nico and Jack met in their first year of study at Queen Mary, University of London, performing together regularly as NicoJam and briefly together in Ark of the Covenant (on bass and bongos), a band based around General Santana, a close friend of Peter Doherty at the time. Ben and Daniel had previously played together in experimental ska punk band One Sock and later The Funk, a band formed with Nico after all three members met whilst studying at The Latymer School in North London.
Their debut gig came a few weeks after forming at the Big Chill House on Pentonville Road on the 20th November for the release of the Foresight:Urban compilation album, featuring Darwood's track "Gimme Your Love", January 2008's Mixmag Compilation of the month . Since then, the band have gigged heavily throughout London, playing venues such as 93ft East, iLuvLive at Cargo supporting Tinie Tempah and Shoreditch Shuffle 2008. Their first gig in Oxford back in July 2008 at The Wheatsheaf, earned them an article in local newspaper the Oxford Mail.
Their unusual style earned them a performance on Balcony. TV London , which lead to a nomination of Best New UK Act 2009 , followed up by a performance on Factory78 with DJ Lanre, showcasing new tracks Television and Appreciate My. The band have also appeared in two InterViews with Uche from BBC's Radio 1Xtra.
The band are currently working on an E.P. at Suite Records in Primrose Hill set for release in late January 2010, which will be followed up later on in the year by their debut album.
