Fursecution

Fursecution is a mocking term used among the furry Internet subculture, which is a combination of the words fur and persecution. The term was never meant to be taken seriously.

The origin of the word probably originated from the Something Awful Forums; the members coin the word as a sacastic/ironic way of pointing out how most furries they know have a strong persecution complex and show extreme paranoia upon people badmouthing them. The word's creation is based on how furries often form their own Internet vocabulary through the combining of fur with another word, such as furriend (fur + friend), furvert (fur + pervert), fursona (fur + persona), confurence (fur + conference), etc.

Many furries, unaware of the ironic meaning and source of the word, have come to use it to describe how they are persecuted on the Internet by "furry-haters".
