"French" (stylised on the album version as "French!") is a song by rapper and OFWGKTA leader Tyler, The Creator from his debut album [...]. It is the fourth track on the album. The song features vocals from fellow Odd Future member Hodgy Beats.
Music Video
A music video was made for the song. It only runs for the duration of the first verse and chorus, with a total duration of just 1:41.
The music video for "French" features members of Odd Future skating, graffitiing and causing destruction while Tyler is rapping to the camera.
The video contains a different mix of the song in a different key which only lasts for 1:19 of the video. The last 22 seconds of the video contain credits followed by a small rant by Tyler, saying, "o, and [...] 2dopeboyz, [...] Steve Harvey too, that [...] can't read, eat my [...] mr dyke [...], ok, I'm done, stop looking at this and download [...] at oddfuture.com, bye [...]". The lines "[...] 2dopeboyz" and "[...] Steve Harvey" are common in Tyler's lyrics.
The video was directed, filmed and produced by fellow OFWGKTA member Taco Bennett and Tyler (credited as Wolf Haley).
Toro y Moi Remix
A remix of "French" by electronic musician Toro y Moi was released as a single as a free download from various websites on the internet on March 1, 2011, including Pitchfork and the Odd Future Tumblr. It features a post-dubstep inspired bassline with Toro y Moi's typical electronic music influences usually ranging from soul and funk. The song's sound could be compared to that of critically acclaimed English dubstep producer Burial.
