FreeMotion Fitness
FreeMotion Fitness, a subsidiary of ICON Health & Fitness, is the provider of the first and only full circuit of integrated functional strength training equipment.
History
Roy Simonson founded FreeMotion Fitness (then Ground Zero Design) in 1999 based on a simple, yet bold observation: One dimensional training doesn't carry over to a three dimensional world. A place where twisting, turning, and moving in all planes is a daily fact of life. This observation resulted in the fitness breakthrough of FreeMotion.
The philosophy of FreeMotion training is based on simulating basic human movement patterns. FreeMotion focuses on building strength, stability, balance and flexibility through replicating natural movements such as pushing, pulling, twisting, lunging and squatting. FreeMotion is a safe, simple and fun way to train the body. Not only the way it was designed to function. But the way it is required to perform everyday.
In December 2000, the company was acquired by ICON Health & Fitness, Inc., to become the commercial division of the world's largest manufacturer and marketer of fitness equipment. As part of the acquisition, Ground Zero Design assumed responsibility of designing, developing, and selling NordicTrack™ commercial cardio products in addition to the FreeMotion line.
In January 2002, the company changed its name to FreeMotion Fitness to reflect the company's founding philosophy and dedication to continued innovation in both strength and cardio products.
Today, FreeMotion Fitness offers wall-to-wall solutions with FreeMotion™ functional strength equipment, FreeMotion™ Cardio and FreeMotion™ EPIC strength. It also provides the FreeMotion i.Tonic Whole Body Vibration Platform, [http://www.iconfitness.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ExecMacro/freeMotion/v3/circuit.d2w/report?
