Foreclosure data provider
Foreclosure data providers provide investors, real estate agents and mortgage brokers with the foreclosure data they need in order to pursue foreclosed properties. A good provider will have a good local understanding and focus, and will acquire the foreclosure data directly from the source. Data is typically made available in a downloadable format such as XLS (Microsoft Excel) or CSV (Comma-separated values) so the user can import the data into a database or investment analysis software.
When selecting a foreclosure data provider, it is important to look for a few key qualifications:
- First Hand Data Acquisition - Ensure that your provider is getting the information independently and not repurchasing the data from third party aggregators.
- Good Customer Support - Your provider should be available to answer any questions that you may have and should respond to inquiries in a timely fashion.
- Non-Competing - Be wary of companies that compete with their customers. Often these providers skim the best deals for themselves and only pass on the data they are not interested in.
