Debut album
Matopié Wa
Foliba Trio submitted demos to local radio stations which generated many listener requests. Most of the tracks on Matopié Wa are rooted in the rich African traditions of great music as illustrated by their first album, Matopié Wa (Don’t talk behind my back). Matopié Wa has 12 tracks, each of which has its own identity that is as complex as the next one. The album gives the impression that each track was composed to expose a different aspect of the rich African musical tradition. Indeed, each track plays like a showcase of a rich repertoire of Malinké beats, Reggae tunes, and some new breed of hybrid-modern African music that makes you want more. It is truly enjoyable. Be ready for your soul to dance with Tam Tam, Dosongoni, Party Feelings, and the rest. Listen, dance or sway to the drum beats of the Foliba Trio’s Matopié Wa. Foliba Trio Matopié Wa is published by IDTS Productions under Farafina Djigui record label. The album was entirely recorded in Abidjan in IDTS Productions studios.
