Florence Koons
Florence Koons, nee Florence Stine of Harrisburg, PA, was the winner of the 1937 Miss Pennsylvania Pageant at the age of 20. After graduating Camp Curtain High school, she attended the Brick House Beauty School on Brick House Lane where she honed her pageant skills. Shortly after winning the crown she was swept off her feet and later marrried Louis Koons, also of Harrisburg, Pa. Together they had two daughters, Harriet and Judy. Florence has six wonderful grand children, Micheal Theise, Tracey Hover, and Eric Theise from daughter Harriet, and Seth, Dina, and Abby Weisleder from daughter Judy. Baubee, or Boss Hog, as she is affectionately referred to by her six grandchildren, is also the great grandmother, or Great Baubee to Hillary, Harriet, Hannah, Louis, Amelia, and Jordyn. Florence still resides in her long time home on 5th Street and is known to have several male callers. To this day, the former Miss Pennsylvania will not admit to several suspicious relationships with the various men who visit her.
