First American Scientific Corp. develops, manufactures, and sells the KDS Micronex, a patented grinder-dryer which grinds and dries materials in a single-step process without needing any heat input. It is a publicly traded company located in Abbotsford, British Columbia and is dually quoted on the OTCBB and OTCQB.

History

Incorporated in 1995, the company originally licensed the KDS (Kinetic Disintegration System) technology from its original developer, Spectrasonic Disintegration Equipment Corp. In 1999 First American Scientific Corp. purchased the rights to the KDS technology and patents. The company has since added additional patent protection to the KDS technology.

In its most recent fiscal year (ended June 30, 2010) revenues were, for the first time in the company’s history, in excess of $1 million.

On February 1, 2011 Calvin L. Kantonen, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer, died. He had served as Chief Executive Officer and/or Chief Financial Officer since 1999 and as Chairman of the Board since 2000.
