Fields Avenue Philippines

Fields Avenue in the Philippines is one of the largest entertainment districts in the country. It is located in Balibago, Angeles City. Thousands of foreigners visit this place every year which consists of hundreds of bars and luxary hotels and resorts.

One of the major attractions is the legalized "bar girl" scene which has been around since the early days of the U.S. military base known as Clark Air Force Base that was located a short distance away. The oldest bar that still exists to this day is the DMZ bar, owned and managed by a former US Marine.

Over the years the area has grown into a mini-Las Vegas of the Philippines, with casinos operating in multiple places, particularly along McArthur Highway and some within the Clark Freeport Zone. The area is protected by both the Philippine National Police and the Tourist Police, thus the area is very safe for foreigners to visit. The bars stay open until all hours of night and there is a big variety of entertainment from disco, to country, and lots of karaoke bars.

The choice of excellent restaurants are everywhere along the stretch of the avenue, extending up to Friendship Highway (Don Juico Avenue) near the Friendship Gate of Clark. If bar hopping is not your thing, The New SM City Mall was built close by, which has AbOUT every store you can imagine. Clark Freeport Zone has now an international airport with flights in and out from many locations in Asia and twice daily flights from Manila.

Recently, Fields Avenue has been transformed from honky-tonk area frequently visited by the US servicemen into a tourist-belt by the local government of Angeles City to change the sin city image attached to it as a former R&R (rest and recreation) area for GI Joes.
