Felix Joseph
FelixJoseph (born Felix Joseph Quine) is an English producer and songwriter based in London. His music is influenced by elements of R&B, Hip hop, Jazz, Soul and Blues.
Career
Felix Joseph began his career in music whilst still in his teens, working as an assistant engineer with the iconic British Ska band Madness.
Moving to London at the age of 20, he began making beats for emerging Hip-Hop artists, including Benny Banks. In 2013 he was introduced to Brighton-based soul singer Elli Ingram. He produced her first EP Sober, which brought her to the attention of Island Records, who she signed with in 2014. He went on to exec-produce The Doghouse EP and her debut album Love You Really.
In 2015 he produced Perfect RUiN and Cheating on Me on the debut album Love + War of London-based Soul singer Kwabs (Atlantic/WMG), which received 5 Stars and was named album of the week by Andy Gill at The Independent. He went on to produce Take My Heart for BRIT-award nominated singer Birdie on her Gold-awarded 3rd album Beautiful Lies. 2017 saw him co-write and produce Herside story by GoldLink feat. Hare Squead, which appeared on GoldLink's 3rd Mixtape At What Cost.
During 2018 he began working with BRIT-award winner Jorja Smith and MOBO-award winner Mahalia. He co-wrote and produced Wandering Romance on Smith's debut album Lost & Found. Wandering Romance was sampled by AJ Tracey on his platinum Single Ladbroke Grove. After co-writing and producing Surprise Me on Mahalia's 2018 EP Seasons, he went on to co-write and exec-produce her BRIT-award nominated and MOBO award- winning album Love And Compromise, working alongside Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Pop Wansel, DJ Dahi, Terrace Martin, Math Times Joy or Lucky Daye. The album includes the Single 'What You Did' feat. Ella Mai, gained him his first BMI London Award in 2021.
In 2020 Pa Salieu released his debut Album Send Them to Coventry, which he exec-produced. The project, which includes the Single "Energy" feat. Mahalia, which he co-wrote and co-produced, gained him his first Ivor Novello Awards nominations in 2021, for Best Contemporary Song for 'Energy' and Best Album for 'Send Them To Conventry'.
