Fatz Belvedere

John Michael Brew (born December 22, 1978, Howard Beach, NY), better known by his production and remixing name, FATZ Belvedere is an American record producer, writer & remix artist.

Fatz started his career working alongside top dance producers, Eddie Baez, Johnny Vicious and Ernie Lake. Fatz' first major label remix was A remix of Bit-R-Swt's "All I want is this" on Neutone recordings. Fatz was then spotlighted on MTV's "True Life series: I'm a clubber" and earned the 2004 remix artist of the year awards at the annual NY Underground music awards. Attention to Fatz' production work came in late 2003 when music mogul Suge Knight took an interest in his music through Fatz' manager at the time, James "Boxer" Gibbs.... After further successful work on "Tupac: Remixed & Revisited", Fatz began remixing artist's for labels such as The Gorillaz "Feel good inc.", Keisha Coles "Love." and T-Pain's "I'm in love with a stripper" as well as prominent artists such as Seal, Johnny Cash and more. He is a skilled musician that is Self Taught in piano, guitar, drums and bass and uses live INSTRUMENTS and tribal percussion with a heavy dance oriented feel in a majoriety of his work.

Fatz developed a strong relationship with superproducer, Timbaland's, Mosley music group and worked exclusively with Mosley Music Group artist, D.O.E. He worked extensively with Queens rapper, Stack Bundles, before he was murdered as well as Joell Ortiz, who is signed to Dr. Dre's, Aftermath Records. He also worked extensively with underground aritsts such as former Terror squad member, Cuban Link, Wu Tang Clan's Shyheim, Paul Kane, whom is rapper Fabolous' brother, and went to work with other notable producers such as Rockwilder, D/R Period and more.

Fatz gained international attention when he was a featured actor on Masta Ace's classic album, "A long hot summer." Fatz, listed on album credits as FATS BELVEDERE, played the role as a brooklyn gangster tagging along with Ace as he was on tour to sell stolen items across the country. The album received four stars and was hailed as Masta Ace's greatest work.

In 2006, Fatz signed a management deal with 8 Park management. A company headed by Violator management's Brent Walker & Andre Neal. Fatz established his company, Tha Drum Addikts, that consisted of producers & writers that would share in his MusicAL vision. Tha Drum Addikts signed Brooklyn based female rapper, Byata, as their flagship artist. Byata later went on to VH1 "Miss Rap Supreme" fame. Byata's project caught attention from Marcus Heisser, an executive at Interscope Records.

Fatz and his Drum Addikt crew have emerged in late 2008 with remixes for LMFAO, Pussycat Dolls & Keri Hilson, as well as with a new major label deal for Byata and Drum Addikt alumni, Erika J. from Making the Band season 3. Alongside his production partners, Rico "Phenomenon" Turner and the rest of the Drum Addikt squad, Fatz is also preparing the finishing touches on his first major label release, "Built from RUiN... Volume 1."

Fatz suffers from Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), in which the platlets are affected in the blood stream. Fatz also has long suffered from Depression which caused him to disappear from the music industry in 2007. Fatz has recently spoke out AbOUT his bout with manic depression and hopes that he can overcome his illness. He is in the process of starting a non profit organization with other artists and producers called, The St. Michael the Archangel foundation, that will raise money for education, research and awareness of the illness.
