Fairest of Them All (film)

Fairest of Them All is a 2025 British fantasy horror film. It follows Mad Hatter as he kidnaps princesses to compete in death challenges to see who is the fairest of them all. The independent film was directed by Kunahan Thampi and written by Harry Boxley. It stars Natasha Tosini, Lewis Santer, Kelly Rian Sanson, Danielle Ronald and Tim Cullingworth-Hudson.

Plot

The Mad Hatter is holding Alice captive and treating her as his servant. He begins abducting princesses from different fairy-tale worlds, including Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Tinkerbell, and Sleeping Beauty. The princesses are brought to the Hatter's castle, where he announces that they must compete against one another in a series of fights. The last surviving princess will become his bride and be declared the "fairest of them all." Each princess possesses a supernatural ability or curse associated with her fairy-tale identity. Belle, for example, can transform into a werewolf-like creature, while Ariel possesses a powerful siren-like scream. Snow White has been transformed into a particularly violent version of her traditional character, while Cinderella is affected by a curse that gives her supernatural abilities. The Hatter forces the princesses into individual matches, using a randomized system to determine who fights whom. Tensions quickly develop among the contestants. Although some of the princesses initially cooperate, the Hatter deliberately encourages distrust and conflict, knowing that only one of them can ultimately survive.

During the competition, Belle fights the Hatter and initially gains the upper hand. However, he manages to incapacitate her. He subsequently reveals that he has killed Belle's husband, Robert, further tormenting her before she is eliminated from the competition. The remaining princesses continue fighting. Snow White initially shows reluctance to kill the other contestants, but her increasingly monstrous nature makes her one of the most dangerous participants. During her confrontation with Belle, Snow White bites Belle and gains an unusual ability, eventually defeating her. Meanwhile, tensions between Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty, and the other contestants continue to escalate. Alice, who has been under the Hatter's control from the beginning, eventually becomes caught up in the conflict. Several contestants attempt to escape the castle, but the Hatter and his guards PReVENT them from freely leaving. The competition consequently becomes increasingly chaotic, with alliances forming and collapsing as the survivors realize that the Hatter intends for the game to end with only one princess alive. Eventually, the competition reaches its final stage. Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty (referred to as Rosetta in parts of the film) remain among the principal survivors. The Hatter declares that the entire castle will serve as their final battleground and releases them to continue fighting. Snow White and Cinderella initially attempt to avoid [...] one another, with Snow White apologizing and suggesting that they find Rosetta instead. Their attempt at cooperation fails, however, as the competition forces them back into conflict. Cinderella ultimately emerges as the last surviving contestant. Rather than simply freeing Cinderella, the Hatter celebrates her survival and declares her the potential winner of his twisted competition. The film ends with the fairy-tale world remaining deeply corrupted by the Hatter's actions, leaving the possibility of the cycle continuing with other fairy-tale characters.
