Faeries (Spiderwick)
Faeries are the name used to describe any kind of fantastical creature in the Spiderwick Chronicles. They can be found on every continent and can only be sighted if you have acquired the sight.
The Sight
The ability to see Faeries is simply called The Sight. Faeries choose to remain invisible to humans. With the sight, one can easily see them. If you are the seventh son, for example, you have already acquired The Sight. Also, if you have red hair. Many people try to get The Sight. One way is rubbing Faerie ointment on your eyes. It is made from ground up four-leaf clovers. Faerie bathwater is another way, by leaving out a bowl of water overnight. Also a Seeing Stone(a stone with a hole in the center) can allow you to see Faeries. In Book 2: The Seeing Stone, it is revealed that Hogsqueal's (a Hobgoblin) spit gave The Grace Children the sight by putting his spit in their eyes.
