Fabrizio Simoncioni

Fabrizio "simoncia" Simoncioni is an Italian musician, producer and sound engineer. (Born June 11, 1965 in Arezzo, Italy).

Biography

World renowed sound & mixing engineer, musician and singer. Started his career in the '80s as a professional singer and musician, composing and performing many successful songs. To this day, his hits “Susy Oh!” and “Hello?” are still considered “cult” favorites in the Italo disco genre.

A serious car accident abruptly halted his career as a recording artist and musician. Yet, his love of music was very strong, and after careful consideration, he re-directed his talent. He studied physics and acoustics, thus becoming a sound engineer. From 1988 to 2007 he recorded, mixed and produced over 80 albums for the most famous Italian and Latin pop / rock artists, and garnered over 40 platinum records and many gold records.

In 2007 he moved to Mexico and started working with composer / musician / producer Ettore Grenci, renowed for his hits with latin pop artists such as OV7, Kalimba Marichal, Yuridia and many others. Together with Mr. Grenci they formed an International production team, with headquarters in Mexico City. They produced the title track for the HBO TV Series “Capadocia”, performed and written by Kany Garcia. They also performed with Reyli and Playa Limbo on the TV show “Fusion A2” by Sony Entertainment Television.

In 2008 he engineered and mixed “Mi Otro Yo”, (artist: Kalimba Marichal, for Sony Music Latin) and the album “Aqui estoy” (artist: Carlos Peña, the second season winner of "Latin American Idol Reality Show" broadcast by Sony Entertainment Television. Also, with Playa Limbo he produced the theme song of the TV Series "Un Gancho al Corazon". In 2009 he recorded and mixed the hit album “Nada es Color de Rosa” by Yuridia, garnering both a gold and platinum record (over 100,000 units sold and number 4 on the Billboard chart as Top Latin Album in october 2009). That same year he mixed Erik Rubin's solo album “Aqui y Ahora”.

In 2007 he sung as guest in an Al Jourgensen's alternative project (the Revolting Cocks).

In his long career span Simoncioni has also worked with notable International producers and engineers such as: Tom Lord-Alge (Rolling Stones, Marilyn Manson, Crash Test Dummies), Ethan Allen (Tricky), Michael Tacci (Metallica), Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Nickelback), Ian Cooper (Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, David Bowie), David Leonard (Prince, Indigo Girls) and Scott Mathews (Barbra Streisand, Keith Richard).

Simoncioni is also a JAA licensed airplane pilot, a hobby which he enjoys in his spare time.
