Ewe Ugochukwu Clement

Ewe Ugochukwu Clement is a Nigerian petroleum engineer, production operations specialist, education administrator, and traditional ruler. He is the Eze Akube I of Obiozimini in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Education

Clement obtained a National Certificate in Education (Technical) in Electrical/Electronics from the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku. He subsequently earned qualifications in Petroleum Engineering from the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, and Chemical Engineering from Imo State Polytechnic, where he later completed a Higher National Diploma. He received a Bachelor's degree in Education (Electrical/Electronics) from the University of Ibadan, a Professional Diploma in Safety and Security Management, and a postgraduate qualification in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Port Harcourt. He obtained a Master of Science in Technology and Vocational Education (Electrical/Electronics) from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

Career

Clement began his career with Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited at the Obagi Oil Field (OML 58) as a Production Operator. Following the formation of TotalFinaElf, he continued as a Senior Production Operator and later worked on the Amenam/Kpono (OML 99) offshore development, participating in the commissioning and start-up of Phases 1 and 2. During this period, he served in production leadership roles, including Chief Production Operator and Production Team Leader. He served as HSE Supervisor at the Obite Gas Plant (OML 58), where he managed environmental and safety systems, including ISO 14001 environmental management processes. He has served as Head of Site Supervision and Production Team Leader on the Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility, overseeing offshore production operations, HSE compliance, and personnel supervision.

Outside the petroleum industry, Clement is the founder of Okayakwu Company Limited, serves as Director of Jec-Lead Academy, and is Chief Executive Officer of CUES College. He has also held leadership positions in the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), including Chapter Chairman, Branch Executive Council member, Chairman of the Total E&P branch, and Branch Auditor.

He has supported educational and community initiatives in Obiozimini and neighbouring communities, including scholarships, sponsorship registrations, payment of salaries for teachers in community primary schools, and support for sports through the sponsorship of the Uso-Ozimini Football Competition. He has also contributed to community infrastructure projects, including the installation of electrical transformers, and has participated in local leadership and development initiatives.
