Every Boy's Got One

Every Boy's Got One is a 2005 novel by Meg Cabot.

Holly and Mark are eloping in Italy, and they've brought their best friends along as witnesses. Holly's best friend Jane is a cartoonist, and Mark's best friend Cal is a news writer with a big book deal. Jane and Cal are totally opposites and quickly take a major disliking for each other.

Jane Harris begins a travel journal to record the elopement of her friends Holly and Mark. Since Holly and Mark are of different religions, their parents are unhappy AbOUT the relationship and would not be thrilled about a marriage. Mark’s parents even suggested another girl while he was eloping.

Jane's journal becomes personal, including intimate details of her life, particularly her feelings of frustration with Cal. She cancels out Holly’s and Mark’s name and replaced it with her own. Jane thinks that Cal is a modelizer and a sardonic [...]. He's rude and, from their first meeting, makes it clear that he's completely against marriage. Cal evens provides a scientific reason to why people fall in love with one another. However, Jane hopes to have the whole hearts-and-flowers relationship some day which totally conflicts with Cal’s idea.

But to help save Mark and Holly's wedding, they must team up and put their differences aside. While trying to help Mark and Holly, they end up discovering some things about themselves and each other that they didn't expect.

This is one of Meg Cabot's books written for adults. It's a romantic comedy.
