Euphrania
Euphrania is the fictional land where the Prince (played by Richard Chamberlain) in The Slipper and the Rose was born and would one day rule with his Princess Cinderella (played by Gemma Craven. It is a small, benevolent country which is surrounded by larger, and potentially threatening countries. It is comparable to modern Leichenstein which is located inbetween Austria and Switzerland.
The origins of this name can be found in the Sherman Brothers' first draft screenplay of "The Slipper and the Rose" dating back to 1974. In The Slipper and the Rose Kings of this land must make marriages of alliance in order to secure the Euphranian borders from attack from hostile neighbors.
Euphranian Dilemma
The term "Euphranian dilemma" refers to the dilemma of one who is caught in the middle of two stronger rivals. The term was first used sometime after "The Slipper and the Rose" was first released in 1976.
