Eton institute

Eton Institute is an educational institute headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, offering language learning courses in over 100 languages.

Located at Dubai Knowledge Village, the institute also offers Cultural Awareness workshops to introduce the Arabic culture and language to non‐Arabs. Other areas include Teaching Diploma and Certificate courses in TESOL/TEFL, Computer/IT Training, and Workshops in Teacher Training, Professional Development and Corporate Training programmes.

A free course in a featured language is conducted every month as part of its CSR initiative to impart knowledge and skills to the wider community.

Languages

Eton Institute offers language courses in over 100 languages in a combination of group, private–semi‐private, online and software courses.

Group courses: Group courses are offered as Intensive or Regular groups with 5–15 learners in a class. Intensive classes are conducted on a daily basis whereas regular classes are held twice or thrice a week.

Private/semi-private: Private or semi-private courses are scheduled upon request and are tailored to the learners needs with flexible timings and location. Semi-private classes consist of 1–3 language learners.

Online courses: Courses are available in 31 languages with access to all levels for a period of 12 months with regular updates.

Software courses: Eton Institute offer software courses in over 100 languages in all levels from beginner to advanced. This software allows users to learn a new language using their own native languages as the medium of instruction. It also has a unique feature that targets learners' weak points by remembering their mistakes.

The institute also offers multileveled intensive language courses for individual and corporate clients for specific purposes and requirements such as Business English for banks, financial institutions and law firms and Communication Art for schools, hotels, restaurants and retail shops.

Teaching diplomas and certificates

Teaching Diploma and Certificate courses at Eton Institute are offered in partnership with the London Teacher Training Centre – UK.

TEFL–TESOL courses are offered in the form of intensive or distance learning.

Intensive courses: Intensive classes are conducted on a daily basis for the duration of the course (120 hours). Classes run from Sunday to Thursday, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm for four weeks.

Distance learning: Distance learning classes are held once a week on a Saturday where the students cover 42 hours of group study and 65 hours are dedicated for self learning. A total of 11 hours are committed towards teaching practice and observation.

Consultancy for schools and curriculum development

Eton offers administrative and academic solutions for schools in the Middle East. They evaluate, develop, initiate and follow-up specific or general administrative or academic needs.

They also provide consultancy for schools to establish or develop existing academic curricular to meet an extensive variety of systems i.e. International Baccalaureate, French Baccalaureate, American or British System. The facets covered include effective planning, classroom management, evaluation policies, appropriate educational material, and teacher training.

Computer and IT training

Eton‐it, a sub-division of Eton Institute, offers Computer/IT courses and workshops for individuals, groups and businesses.

Computer courses are conducted in: Microsoft Office 2007, Adobe Creative Suite 3, MCSE, MCSA, MCP, Vista and XP.

One day workshops are conducted in: Web Design & Development, Microsoft Excel, Image Enhancement and Optimization and Networking.

Kids courses

Eton‐Kids, a sub-division of Eton Institute, offers activity-based language courses for children. These courses aim at combining fun with learning through educational games, songs and group interactions. The languages currently offered include English, Arabic, Spanish, French, German and Italian.

The courses are available for ages starting from 4 years to 16 years with different classes designed to suit the learning styles of different age groups.

Apart from learning a language, teenagers can also take computer classes at the Institute.

Corporate training

Eton Institute offers tailor-made training solutions for business and corporations based on their specific learning needs. These individualized courses and workshops are designed to promote behavioral change and effective learning through relevant and interactive training sessions.

Languages: Language training programs are tailored to meet the needs of an organization in training their employees to be multilingual in order to facilitate communication internationally. The training is available in over 100 languages in a combination of online, software and classroom based learning.

Professional Development: The institute offers training sessions for organizations to evaluate and improve the business communication skills of their employees so as to develop stronger relations with both clients and suppliers. All workshops are tailored to specific corporation requirements.

The content of the workshops and courses vary depending on client needs and requirements. Sample topics include: English Business Writing, Business Etiquette, Customer Service, Sales, CV Writing and Interview Skills, Report Proposal Writing, Building a High Performing Team, Leadership Skills, Confidence Building, Planning, Leading and Following up on a Meeting, Accent Reduction and Cultural Awareness & Sensitivity.

CSR activities

Eton Institute has undertaken various CSR initiatives in the United Arab Emirates such as free events, workshops and language courses.

They conduct a free language course every month in different languages and have conducted numerous free Arabic language courses for expatriates who wish to learn the language.

Better U, an open event hosted by Eton, witnessed over 600 attendees that participated in various free activities such as dance classes, language classes, art and craft activities and social etiquette lessons. It also featured various prominent non-profit organizations such as ACTED, Special Needs Awareness Program (SNAP), Little Wings, Al Noor Training Centre for Children with Special Needs, Al Ihsan Charity and Feline Friends Dubai.
