ErrMess is a series of freeware Computer prank programs and remote access programs started by Alegjos.

ErrMess

The first ErrMess was a simple prank program that allows you to customize seven error messages, then display them at a specified time. You could also make it shut down the computer after they have been displayed.

ErrMess Remote Computer

ErrMess is best known for ErrMess Remote Computer, a remote administration tool that allows you to execute various annoying and unwanted commands on the victim's computer. An exe file, called the server, must be placed and opened on the victim's computer, before ErrMess can connect to it. To connect to the server, you also must know the victim's IP address. Here is some of the commands that it can send:

  • Open/close CD-ROM tray
  • Send fake error messages
  • Make the computer beep
  • Flip the screen
  • Hide the taskbar, clock, start button, and other things
  • Make the start button non-responsive
  • Swap the mouse buttons
  • Clip the cursor (allow it to move only in a small section of the screen)
  • Hide desktop ICONS
  • Make the screen flash
  • Open websites
  • Draw on the screen
  • Show a fake format screen
  • Show a fake Norton AntiVirus virus detection screen.
  • Print text out of the printer
  • Download/upload files
  • Delete, rename, and move files
  • Remote control the mouse
  • Remote control Winamp

ErrMess comes in four versions; ErrMess, ErrMess 2.1, ErrMess 3.1, and ErrMess 4.1. 4.1 is currently in development and a beta version has been released.

ErrMess Remote Balloon Messages

ErrMess Remote Balloon Messages is a small application that will allow you to send "fake" xp balloon popups to a remote computer. You can currently choose between 6 icons, title and message are custom. You are also able to delay the popup. In the later update more icons and the ability to execute commands after the balloon have timedout will be available.
