Enrique Odría
Enrique Odría Sotomayor (born May 10, 1968), is a Peruvian politician and a descendant of former President of Peru, Manuel A. Odria (1948–1956). He is the founder of the political group "Alternancia", which will be contending in the Peruvian presidential election of 2016.
Education
He graduated from the University of Phoenix with a bachelor's degree in management. Later, he went on to study public management at Northern Arizona University in the United States, where he received a master's degree. He began his career in the real estate industry in the early 1990's and by the year 2000 he opened his own company. In 2012, he began collaborating with several political groups in Peru to advance the philosophies of democracy and free markets that are not very well cemented in Peruvian politics. Odría favors the economic theories of Milton Friedman and the fundamentals of laissez-faire in government. In early 2014, Odría began integrating the political group Alternancia, form it into a national political party with the intention to contend in the peruvian Congressional and Presidential campaigns of 2016. He has been labeled as the true "outsider" of Peruvian politics by pundits.
