Emma Milne

Emma Milne (born 31 January 1972) is a British TV veterinarian, author, and animal welfare campaigner. She qualified as a veterinary surgeon at Bristol University in 1996, after previously being rejected by five other veterinary schools.. Emma came to be known when she appeared in the BBC 1 fly-on-the-wall documentary Vets In Practice. Emma was one of only four vets featured in all eleven series.

She has been an ACTIVE campaigner for animal welfare matters including hunting with dogs, tail docking, captive marine mammals and above all pedigree health problems in dogs and cats.

Her first book, The Truth AbOUT Cats and Dogs was published in 2007 and was about the realities of life as a vet but mainly pedigree health problems. She followed this with Tails From the Tail End, a more light-hearted book of stories from her time on TV which became a number bestseller on Amazon's veterinary list. In 2015 and 2016 she released a series of 5 children' books called the Pet Detective Series. This series teaches children the five welfare needs and gets them to consider the happiness of a future pet as well as its health. To mark the 10th anniversary of the first pedigree health book Emma revisited the subject and Picking a Pedigree? will be released in 2018.
