Emily Halper
Emily Rose Halper (born May 5, 1998) is an American artist known for working with a variety of mediums including digital photography, painting, drawing, and sculpture. She lives and works in New York, currently working on a B.F.A. degree in Art Education at Long Island University- Post.
She attended Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts for seven years, where her passion for the arts began. Throughout Halper’s years attending Commack High School, she explored a variety of art disciplines, including, painting, drawing, digital and traditional photography, jewelry design, and webpage design. These high school years gave her the opportunity to participate in many art competitions and exhibitions. This led to many awards and recognitions including Gold Keys in Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and Grand Prize in the NASA Global Precipitation Measurement “Signs of Spring” Photo Contest of 2015. Halper has been requested as a professional photographer for multiple events, including a Photojournalist documentation of an Albany event with State Legislators for the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association. Halper took oil painting and live model drawing classes at Huntington Fine Arts. Her interests led her to a ceramics program at Adelphi University in 2014. During the summer of 2015 she participated in New York State Summer School of the Arts (NYSSSA) for Visual Arts at Fredonia University.
She has exhibited and sold her work on numerous occasions, having a Solo Art Exhibition July 26, 2017, at the LIU Post Campus.
Halper is planning on studying abroad in Florence, Italy during the Fall 2017 at The Florence School of Fine Arts.
