Emilio Sparks
Emilio "Sparks" Medugno, aka "The Broke Celebrity", is an American Live DJ and Radio Personality. He is the host of the popular Hip-Hop program The Dego Show on WSIA 88.9FM which broadcasts from The College of Staten Island.
In 2008 he began hosting a bi-weekly podcast called DEGOCAST which is produced by Dog and Pony Show, and began writing a regular blog called Notes From a Broke Celebrity on blogspot.
Radio career
The Dego Show
Emilio is the host of the locally popular Dego Show which airs every Tuesday from 11pm to 2am. It is broadcast from The College of Staten Island. The show features unsigned hip-hop acts as well as the best DJs in the Tri-state area.
The show is known for the attention it receives from major players in the music industry. Amongst others the show has featured InterViews from well known members of the Hip-Hop community such as members of The Wu Tang Clan, Redman, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cam'ron, MIMS, and Mickey Factz.
Podcast
DEGOCAST
Degocast is the official podcast of Dog and Pony Show. Emilio Sparks hosts with Vin "Futureboy 3001" Noe Co-Hosting and produced by former SUNY Buffalo WRUB DJ, Damian "Baby Angel" Thomas Degocast is an uncensored version of Sparks' live radio broadcast entitled 'The Dego Show' which airs on WSIA the official radio station of The College of Staten Island.
In September of 2008, Emilio was featured on the cover of The Staten Island Advance's pull out AWE. The issue's cover story was AbOUT the up and coming art of podcasting.
The Degocast also releases video of Emilio Sparks interviewing celebrities on the podcast's youtube page. Videos are released on as the interviews are procured. Interviewees on the video version of the podcast include: Former MTV personality Sway Calloway, Keith Murray, 88 Keys, Curren$y, Wale & Kid Cudi, Mickey Factz, and Big Sean.
