The L Word

Keener joined The L Word during Season 5 as entrepreneur Dawn Denbo (AKA Double D), who started a rival lesbian bar with her lover Cindi (played by Alicia Wills) having both recently moved to LA from Miami to open a lesbian club, called SheBar. 'Her lover Cindi' became a very well known catchphrase attributed to Keener's character. It was not prominent in the script until Keener latched onto it. She remained from episode 4 named: "Let's Get This Party Started" until the last episode of season 5 named "Loyal and True". During Season 5 Keener became the character that everybody loved to hate, many fans wanted her to come back for the final season but Dawn Denbo was not written into season 6. Dawn Denbo proved to be a very popular character during Season 5 and this role was great coverage for Keener, as this is her most well known character.
