Elegia (literary club)

Club “Elegia” — the literary and art association which has arisen in Nakhodka in 1970. Unites a wide range of poets, writers (including members of the Russian Union of writers), and also artists and musicians. Founders of club — Dina Usataya and Stanislav Kabelev, they remain heads of club.

History

On October, 16th, 1970 in trade-union library of “Primorsky zavod” in Nakhodka there has passed the first meeting of fans of the literature, devoted to Sergei Yesenin's birthday. Then the club has received the name “Elegia”. As its organizer Dina Usataya has acted the director of factory library. After library closing at “Primorsky zavod” in 1990th years with support of a city administration the club has moved to a premise in the historical center of Nakhodka where takes place till now.

Association includes 300 members from Nakhodka and other cities and areas of Primorski Krai, among which and members of the Union of writers of Russia, including: Gennady Fokin, Nikolay Tertyshnyj, Alexander Bykov, Elena Tatarenko, Svetlana Simonova, Anna Tarabrina, Valenitina Bardina, Stanislav Kabelev, Gennady Bogdankevich, Vladimir Janov, Dmitry Babchenko, Nina Ivanova, Vera Lisitsina, Yury Naumov, Valentin Dudkin, Nastja Popova, Nina Ivanova, Elena Katrevich, Julia Vorobyova, Inna Ulezko, Vasilina Shilnikova, Vasily Tarasenko, Vladimir Maratkanov (a member of the Union of artists of Russia) and others.

Actions

On the evenings spent by club, except writers and poets artists and musicians participate, frequent visitors are travelers (in 2004 the club was visited by known traveler Fyodor Konyukhov).

In the spring of 2010 in the third time with support of city administration passed competition on the best verses and prose among schoolboys “the Way to Parnassus”. The competition theme has been adhered to 60-year-old anniversary of Nakhodka — “a City married the sea”. The edition of the literary collection “the City married the sea” which has included 200 verses on the Find was a result of carrying out of competition in 2009.

Publications

Poets and writers of “Elegia” publish the products in “the Literary newspaper” Russia, magazine “Far East” and in other printing editions. The club has The Newspaper and magazine, publishes own books and almanacs; participates in book exhibitions of regional and all-Russian scale.

The club works daily.
