Eenasul Fateh

Eenasul Fateh () (stage names Aladin and Danial) is a British-Bangladeshi living in London, the son of a Bengali ambassador. From 2000 to 2005 Fateh was listed as the Vice-Chair of the Mayor of London's Cultural Strategy Group. He is also a magician, described in 1999 by The Times, as "an extraordinary magician, performer and artist". However, he has apparently received little coverage in the specialised magic press (see Conflicting information below).

Roxanna, Aladin's daughter, along with other members of his family including Aladin's wife, were subjects of a 2003 National Geographic documentary (authored by Aladin ) about refugees from other countries who are settling in London, "Running for Freedom: Roxanna's Story".

In 2005, Aladin's sleight of hand style was showcased on the DVD Book of Cool, a project featuring work from performers with a variety of skills, ranging from skateboarding to card tricks.

In 2007, Aladin played himself in the Universal Pictures film Magicians.

Conflicting information

There is conflicting information about Aladin/Danial's fame as a magician and standing among industry peers. There are several websites which are registered to and Appear to be maintained by him, which make claims such as that he is "one of only two recipients of the Golden Turban award from the fabled Magic Academy of Bangalore." But there is little to no mention of Aladin, or any such convention, in magician trade magazines such as MAGIC, Genii, Magic Times, or Inside Magic. In the magician trade press, there are two 2004 mentions in Magic Times and Inside Magic that refer to an article in The Oxford Student. Inside Magic described the article as an "interesting profile of a magician I have never heard about". Magic Times called Aladin someone who performs "impossible sounding pieces.". The online archives for volume 37 issue 6 of The Oxford Student do not contain the article referred to.
