Edward Freytag

Edward Freytag is a professional musician and educator most known for his work as a percussionist. He is the founder of BOD Productions, Guru Graphics, and Serious Percussion Publications. Currently he is a staff writer for Row-Loff productions, the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Chair at La Vergne High School in LaVergne, Tennessee, and Percussion Caption Head for Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps in Nashville, Tennessee. Mr. Freytag's education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a Master of Music Degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Career

Mr. Freytag has performed and toured extensively throughout the United States, Russia, Germany, England and the Caribbean Islands with such well-known artists as Liberace, Benny Goodman, Dizzy Gillespie, Randy Brecker, Eliane Elias, Steve Allen, Buddy Morrow, Donald Brown, Jerry Coker, Ron Miller, Ray Stevens, Bill Watrous, Terry Gibbs, Bud Brisbois, Dude Mowrey (Arista Records), Marilyn Martin (Atlantic Records), James T. Horn (Curb Records), Philip Claypool (Curb Records), Ric Ferrell (Dreamworks Records), Mindy McCready (RCA Records), Thom Ellis (E3 entertainment, LLC), Kimber Cleveland, Dr. Hook, and the legendary Carl Perkins. He has done openings for the likes of Ray Stevens, Joe Diffie, Eddie Money, Tracy Lawrence, Rick Trevino, Billy Dean, Shaver, Radney Foster, Lorrie Morgan, Restless Heart, Martina McBride, Eddie Arnold, and Leroy Parnell.

Freytag has taught percussion at Cumberland University, Lee University, Tomlinson College, and Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tennessee. He was the Professor of Percussion at his alma mater, the University Of Tennessee At Chattanooga from 1990 to 1991. Often, he serves as a clinician and adjudicator for percussion and jazz as well as being a percussion section member of the Knoxville Symphony and the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra. He is currently Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at LaVergne High School in LaVergne, TN and is the Percussion Caption Head for Music City Legend Drum & Bugle Corps in Nashville, TN. He is endorsed by ProMark Drumsticks, Pearl Drums, Adams Percussion, and Row-Loff Productions.
