Dávid Balázs Horváth

Dávid Horváth (full name is Dr Dávid Balázs Horváth, born 28 June 1972, Budapest, Hungary) is a Schmidt Egon-laurated (Hungarian environmental prize) veterinarian, journalist and media personality who is best known for his media (TV, radio, internet, magazin, etc.) appearances. He is the president of the Dog Owners’ Safeguarding Civilian Association in Ferencváros (Ferencvárosi Kutyatartók Érdekvédelmi Civil Szervezete). He speaks Hungarian, English and German.

Career

Veterinarian career

Dr Dávid Horváth graduated at the University of Veterinary Science (Budapest, Hungary) in 1995.

Knézich, Central Ferencváros and Csepel central veterinary clinics and animal cosmetics were founded in 1997, 2001 and 2003. Up to that time Dr Dávid Horváth worked in the Departments and Clinics of Internal Medicine, Exotic Animal Medicine, Reproduction and Surgery and Ophthalmology, at the University of Veterinary Science (Budapest, Hungary), in the Animal Hospital of Morris Park and Animal Medical Center (New York, USA), in the Animal Hospital of Dr. Robert Rosskopf and Wemdinger Tierartzpraxis of Dr. Johann Till (Straubing and Wemding, Germany) and in Animal Hospital of Dr Norbert Kopf, Kleinertierklinik Breitensee (Vienna, Austria).

The establishments of the veterinary clinics were based on the experiences in the University and on international veterinary congresses (for example Cardiopulmonary disorders in dogs, Neurological disorders in dogs, World Small Animal Veterinary Association Eastern European Continuing Education Project, XIth International Congress of the World Poultry Association, World Veterinary Poultry Association, Poultry Health Organisation of the Hungarian Veterinary Society, Veterinary Medical Research Institute of Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Gastroenterology, World Small Animal Veterinary Association Eastern European Continuing Education Project, World Small Animal Veterinary Association Eastern European Continuing Education Project, First Pet Food Conference on pet nutrition, Actual questions of the pet nutrition, 29th World Small Animal Veterinary Congress, Rhodes, Greece, 6th International Sheep Veterinary Congress, Crete, Greece, etc.) and visits of well-equipped veterinary clinics in Austria, Germany, Israel and in the USA.

In the 3 veterinary clinics more veterinarians and one qualified animal cosmetician do their work for the earliest recovery of the pets. They are supported by modern equipment (digital X-ray, digital ECG, ultrasound machine, high frequency electronic surgical unit, ultrasonic scaler, pulse oximeter, etc.) and they have have a very reliable laboratory partner.

He participated in the organisation of several dog and cat shows, exhibitions and veterinary and other congresses.

Journalist career

He is member in the Association of Hungarian Journalists.

He is the owner of a media company which’s profile is consultations connected with pets and writing articles in the topics associated with pets and veterinarians in magazines and papers (with pictures). He has written more than 1400 articles in magazines, papers and the internet.

He is the author of the veterinarian articles in the following magazines: Cicc…macska Magazin, Kutya Szövetség, Nordi Északikutyás Hírmagazin, Ferencváros magazin, Kiskegyed, Budapesti Nap, Fanny, Színes Mai Lap, Színes Bulvár Lap, Bors, Men’s Health, Hungarian Golf magazin, etc.

He was the veterinarian expert in the very popular TV series in Hungary at the RTL KLUB: Pet magazin (Kedvenc Magazin) and Morning and Lunch TV-shows (Reggeli és Delelő).
