Drew Garabo
Drew Raymond Garabo was a radio talk show host known primarily for hosting "The Drew Show" (also known as "The Drew Garabo Show") on Real Radio 104.1 WTKS-FM Orlando from 1997 to 2005. From 2004-2005 he wrote a sports column for the Orlando Weekly called "Bad Sport"1. He currently hosts "The Drew Show" podcast.
Early career
Drew started in radio at Rollins College on WPRK 91.5. He was discovered by a WTKS-FM program director who hired him initially to work as a weekend disc jockey from 7pm to midnight. Drew worked briefly as a producer for Ed Tyll before becoming a producer for Jim Philips on The Philips Phile WTKS-FM from 1996 to 1997.
The Drew Garabo Show
In 1997 Drew began hosting his own show on WTKS-FM, initially filling the advertisement-light 12am-5am time slot, where the show remained for a year and a half and built a small but loyal audience known as "The Cult of Drew"2. When Ed Tyll left WTKS, "The Russ and Bo" show, which had formerly held the 7pm-11pm time slot, moved to the middays, and the newly renamed "Drew Show" moved to the 7pm-11pm time slot.
In 2005, Drew moved to competing station WOCL 105.9, eventually filling the morning drive time slot opened when Howard Stern left terrestrial radio. At WOCL, Drew co-hosted "The Morning After Show" with another former WTKS personality (and former Monsters in the Morning personality), "The Sexy Savannah". On January 4, 2008, WOCL announced a format change and let go most of the on-air talent.
In January, 2008, Drew once again stepped behind the microphone and launched "The Drew Show" as a podcast. As of October 2, 2008 it was ranked #5 of all podcasts on PodcastAlley.com3.
