Drew Bowman

Drew Bowman (born November 8, 1985) is a pitcher for the Rookie League Billings Mustangs in the Pioneer League. He played collegiately at Arizona State and Nebraska.

Baseball

High School

Drew went to DAKOTA Ridge High School in Colorado. He was ranked as one of the top 50 high school players in the nation. He went 8-3 with 2 saves, 117 strike outs and a .75 ERA. He had 23 complete games in 27 starts. He was named the Colorado Gatorade Player of the Year in 2004 and was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 21st round of the 2004 MLB draft but went to college instead.

College

He played for Arizona State as a freshman. In 2005 he was part of the College World Series team but redshirted. In 2006 he started 4 games in 14 appearances. He went 0-1 with a 6.08 ERA and struck out 13 in 13.1 innings. Drew tranferred to Nebraska and became a starter. He went 4-1 with a 4.31 ERA in 14 appearances. He struck out 30 while walking 11. He pitched against his former team in the Tempe Regional in .2 innings. On the 1st day of the 2007 MLB draft he was selected in the 5th round (169th overall) by the Cincinnati Reds as a sophomore.

Minor League

Drew made his debut on June 23, 2007 with the Mustangs. He went 1-5 in 14 games with 41 strikeouts and a 7.19 ERA for the '07 season.
