History
Dr. Samuel George Institute of Engineering and Technology is the first engineering college in Prakasham District. It was established in the year 1997. It was founded by Late Shri. Adimulapu Samuel George, a great educationalist and well-known person in and around Prakasam and Kurnool Districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Dr. SGIET is located at George Town, near Darimadugu Village, Markapur. It is a Christian Minority Institution, approved by AICTE and affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada.
