Dorothy Sue Hill

Dorothy Sue Hill (born April 23, 1939) is an American Democratic member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 32.

Background

Born and raised in Louisiana, Hill graduated from Fairview High School in Grant Parish, LA, in 1957, and McNeese State University in 1960.

Political career

In 2007, Hill was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in District 32, taking over from her long-term husband, Herman Ray "Coach" Hill, who ran unopposed from 1995 until his term expired. She defeated David Cain. Hill has described her vision for District as guided by three principles: Christian values, continuity and compassion.

On October 22, 2011, Hill won re-election to District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. In the 2010-2011 legislative session, Hill served on the committees of Health and Welfare, Municipal, and Transportation. In the 2012-2013 legislative session, Hill served on the following committees: Agriculture, Forestry, Aquaculture and Rural Development, Health and Welfare, and Transportation, Highways and Public Works.
