Dongdao (东岛, meaning East Island) class [[reefer ship]] is a class of naval [[auxiliary ship]] currently in service with the [[People's Liberation Army Navy]] (PLAN), and at least three units were completed and entered service with PLAN from 1960 thru 1962.<ref name=SNC>{{cite web| url=http://tieba.baidu.com/p/2248655005?pn=8 | title=Dongdao class AF | accessdate=April 3, 2013 }}</ref> This class can carry between seven hundred to eight hundred tons of frozen cargo.<ref name=SNC/>

Dongdao class ships in PLAN service are designated by a combination of two Chinese characters followed by three-digit number. The second Chinese character is Leng (冷), meaning cold in Chinese, because these ships are classified as [[refrigerator ship]]. The first Chinese character denotes which fleet the ship is service with, with East (Dong, 东) for [[East Sea Fleet]], North (Bei, 北) for [[North Sea Fleet]], and South (Nan, 南) for [[South Sea Fleet]].<ref name=SNC/> However, the pennant numbers may have changed due to the change of Chinese naval ships naming convention.
