Discover Brilliant was an international conference and exposition held in 2007, which celebrated outstanding innovations and approaches that generate more value, while reducing waste and negative environmental impacts.
The event was produced by Athena Media Group and The Athena Institute, a collection of internationally regarded experts who specialize in progressive strategies and practical deployments for the sustainable economy. The event was initiated based on the idea that in a world driven by economics, it is not enough to just be green. Discover Brilliant focuses on leading IDeaS and the best examples of Brilliant Solutions in communities, businesses, buildings, utilities and transportation that are more economically valuable, environmentally sound, as well as stable and secure.
Discover Brilliant 2007 was held from September 17-19 in downtown Seattle at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. The event consists of International Conferences, Leadership Summits, Exposition and Showcase and the Brilliant Awards and Gala. The awards categories are Brilliant Building, Brilliant Business, Brilliant Community, Brilliant Transportation, Brilliant Utilities, Brilliant Innovation, and Brilliant Leader- Lifetime Achievement. The topics to be explored and discussed include but not limited to Green IT , Resource Nationalism, Moving the Technology Frontier, Solving the Fueling Challenge, Greening the Government, The Reality of Smart Grid in North America, The New Consumerism, Creating a Valuable Urban Core.
