Dick Evans (artist)
[...] Evans (born 1976) is a sculpture and installation artist who lives and works in Hackney, London. This work is concerned with the individual’s subjective relationship to objects and culture. This manifests itself in works created from wax, water, resin, steel, clay and ephemeral materials such as dust and powder.
Evans' work often relates to subjective states of being from the influence of drugs, music or human relationships. He also discusses his work in relation to curatorial projects such as the artspace The Ship, a gallery based in a disused strip club in Shadwell London and his years as a DJ before making art work in the 90s.
[...] Evans' work is featured in many major collections including the Saatchi Gallery , Bernard Arnault and Simon De Pury. He is represented in London by Maureen Paley.
