Dexter's Laboratory (Season 2, Episode 11)

The eleventh episode of ''Dexter's Laboratorys second season''' features three segments: "A Hard Day's Day," which begins the episode, "Road Rash," the middle episode, and "Ocean Commotion," the episode's finale. It originally aired in its entirety on Cartoon Network on September 24,1997.

In "A Hard Day's Day," Dexter is experiencing a very unpleasant day due to a series of embarrassing, catastrophic incidents; when Dee-Dee attributes his misfortune to astrology, Dexter attempts to solve the problem himself. In "Road Rash," Dexter's parents buy him a bicycle; although he is initially reluctant, he grows interested when Dee-Dee insists she is faster than him. Finally, in "Ocean Commotion," Dexter's family is spending the day at the beach; when Dee-Dee is captured by a fisherman (After being mistaken for a mermaid), Dexter embarks on a quest to retrieve her.

A Hard Day's Day

For several weeks, Dexter is enjoying his life by completing extensive projects in his laboratory, claiming each one to be "a fine day for science." Unfortunately, one morning, Dexter's day begins uncomfortably, and his malfunctioning mechanical mattress throws him through a window, where he falls [...] to the ground below. After Dexter rudely addresses his mother (Who witnessed the incident), she insists he "got off on the wrong side of the bed;" Dexter takes the statement literally and attempts to wake up correctly. Following this, his father insists he "keep a stiff upper lip," although this advice fails as well.

Dee-Dee believes Dexter's problem is astrological; she explains that Dexter, a Capricorn, has been positively affected by Saturn's power. However, the moon has now begun passing by Saturn and Dexter is unable to benefit from Saturn's power. Again taking the advice to heart, Dexter decides to push the moon away from Saturn; as a result, the moon lands on Earth and destroys Dexter's town, including his home and laboratory.

Road Rash

Dexter's parents, believing he isn't getting enough exercise, purchase him a bicycle. Dexter is initially reluctant, disliking physical activity, but becomes interested with the bicycle following Dee-Dee's taunting accusation that Dexter cannot catch her. When she proves correct, Dexter attempts to capture Dee-Dee through a series of events (Parodying Road Runner), but eventually decides to attach turbo-jets to his bicycle instead. Unfortunately, the bike becomes overpowered, sending Dexter racing around the world while his clothes are removed. When Dexter finally catches Dee-Dee, she doesn't mind, choosing instead to mock his nudity. Their mother then appears and reminds Dexter to wear his helmet.
