Deuce Seelster

Deuce Seelster (foaled 07 April 2005) is an Ontario sired standardbred racing horse. He was sired by Western Maverick, out of Demi Seelster, a Camluck mare. The colt was purchased as a yearling for $16 000, and is currently owned by Katherine Bardis.

In his two year old campaign, Deuce Seelster has a perfect 6-for-6 win record (as of August 26, 2007) and has amassed $193 020 in earnings. He has dominated the Ontario Sires Stakes division for two-year-old pacing colts and geldings, winning both the Gold Finals thus far this year, despite having drawn the most difficult post positions at both tracks (post 10 at Mohawk, post 9 at Flamboro Downs). In the eliminations for the 2007 Metro Pace, Deuce Seelster tied his career mark of 1:52.2 and increased his career best margin of victory to 6 lengths. In the finals of the Metro Pace, he finished 4th place in a race where Somebeachsomewhere set a world record of 1:49.3.
