Dennis Spivack

'''Dennis Spivack''' (born 1947) is an [[United States |American]] [[lawyer]] and [[politician]] from [[New Castle County, Delaware |New Castle County]], [[Delaware]], near [[Wilmington, Delaware |Wilmington]]. He is a member of the [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democratic Party]], and was its candidate for [[United States House of Representatives |U.S. Representative from Delaware]] in the [[Delaware congressional election, 2006 |Delaware congressional election]] in 2006. In that election he was defeated by incumbent [[United States House of Representatives |U.S. Representative]] [[Michael N. Castle]].

==Early life and family==
Spivack graduated from the [[University of Pennsylvania]] in 1969 with a degree in [[political science]]. In 1971, he married Marcia Bregman, also of Wilmington. They have two grown daughters. In 1975, he completed a law degree from the [[University of Michigan Law School]]. Spivack first served in the [[Attorney General of Delaware|Delaware Attorney General's]] office as a Deputy Attorney General, and is currently a senior member of the law firm Morris James in [[Wilmington, Delaware|Wilmington]], where he focuses on [[real estate]] law. He has represented the Delaware State Housing Authority, and has served on several committees for the betterment of the [[Brandywine School District]].
