Demir Boldin

Demir Javon Boldin (born June 20, 1986 in Pahokee, Florida) is a college football player at the wide receiver position for Wake Forest University.

High School career

Boldin was named the Defensive Player of the Year by the Palm Beach Post 1 and was listed as the No. 77 safety by TheInsider.com 2. He was a first-team all-state selection, and had 107 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 29 receptions for 691 yards as a senior. As a linebacker he recorded 9 tackles and caught a 58-yard touchdown pass in the state title game. Boldin played in the Palm Beach All-star Game in addition to being a starter on the basketball team 3. Boldin is noted for his size and his versatility (ability to play both offense and defense) making him a multi-sport standout 4. He led Pahokee High School (Blue Devils) to a 13-1 record and the 2A championship 5.

On December 20, 2004, Boldin committed to Wake Forest University.

College career

Boldin made his collegiate debut on September 24, 2005 against the Maryland Terrapins. Boldin caught one pass for a total of 14 yards 6. Boldin’s second game was on October 1, 2005 against the Clemson Tigers. He caught 3 passes for a total of 36 yards7. In Boldin’s third game on October 8, 2005 against the Florida State Seminoles he saw his first career high. Leading his team in receiving yards he caught 4 passes for a total of 58 yards 8. Boldin saw a notable amount of action in the third and fourth games of his career at Wake Forest University. Against the Boston College Eagles on October 15 2005, Boldin was third on his team in receiving yards with 3 catches for a total of 54 yards 9. Against North Carolina State on October 22, [2005], Boldin was third on his team in receiving yards with 2 catches for a total of 47 yards 10. He did not play in the game against the Duke Blue Devils 11. Boldin played his last game of the season with a loss against the Georgia Yellow Jackets, 30-17, on November 5, 2005. Boldin had 2 catches for a total of 15 receiving yards 12. Boldin finished off his freshman season second on the team in receiving yards and fourth on the team in receptions. He played 9 games and started 6 with a total of 15 receptions for a total of 224 yards and a team-best of 14.9 yards per catch. Boldin was named to The Sporting News’ ACC All-Freshman Team 13.

Personal

Demir is a sociology major at Wake Forest University. He is the younger brother of Anquan Boldin, who played football at Florida State and was the NFL's 2003 Rookie of the Year with the Arizona Cardinals and is the son of Brenda Banks.
