Deborah Yuengling Ferhat

Deborah Yuengling Ferhat ( ) is known for being part of the D.G. Yuengling & Son brewing company family and for being groomed to take ownership of the company, along with her sisters, when her father Richard L. Yuengling Jr. relinquishes control.

Along with her three sisters, Yuengling is heiress to the $1.4 billion fortune. D.G. Yuengling & Son is the oldest still-operating brewery in the United States and Yuengling will be part of the sixth direct generation to control the company.

Deborah "Debbie" Yuengling Ferhat was born "with barley in her blood" as the daughter of Richard L. Yuengling Jr.. She is the granddaughter of Richard L. Yuengling Sr., great-granddaughter of Frank D. Yuengling, great-great-granddaughter of Frederick Yuengling and great-great-great granddaughter of David Yuengling, the founder of D.G. Yuengling & Son. She is the sister of Jennifer Yuengling-Franquet, Wendy Yuengling Baker and Sheryl Yuengling and great-niece of F. Dohrman Yuengling.

Business

Yuengling Ferhat used to work at the brewery directing tours and manning the gift shop, but has moved into finance and accounting.

Yuengling Ferhat is a board member of the Schuylkill Area Community Foundation as well as on the board of trustees for the Pottsville Library.

Yuengling Ferhat also sits on the board of Lasting Legacy, a Pottsville organization dedicated to city restoration and rejuvenation. The Lasting Legacy board has been the main source behind creating the Yuengling Bicentennial Park and Gardens in Pottsville.

Personal

Yuengling Ferhat attended Pottsville High School and graduated in 1992. After graduation, she attended Moravian College from 1992 until 1996. Since graduation, she has been a consistent financial supporter of the college along with husband Joseph "Joe" Ferhat.

Both Yuengling Ferhat and her husband also contribute to the Schuylkill United Way, as do sisters Jennifer, Wendy and Sheryl and father Richard.

Yuengling Ferhat enjoys golfing and was one of the sponsors of the Captain Chris Seifert Memorial Golf Outing in 2013.

On August 9, 2005, Yuengling Ferhat gave birth to son Nolan Joseph.
