DealSite
Deal Site is a special category web site where special consumer deals are published. Deal Sites can be profit oriented or non-profit service oriented(People forums).
Profit oriented deal sites are controlled by a site admin. Companies willing to advertise their special deals approach the site admin and fix a specific payment plan. It can be typically one of a fixed price per deal advertisement, Cost-Per-Click (CPC), Cost-Per-acquisition or Cost-per-Lead. Once this agreement is reached, the advertisement is published in the deal site.
Non-Profit deal sites are online user forums, where there is no central control by a site admin(except for moderation purpose). Any user who knows a good deal can post the deal directly on the deal site and make it public to millions of viewers. These not-for-profit deal sites rely on donations or affiliations with content based search result providers to generate a reasonable revenue for survival.
Advertisers find that deal sites produce better ROI than a mere CPC advertising, since there is a scope for fixing a fixed rate (In for-profit deal sites) or a free publication in non-profit deal sites. USA is leading in the number of deal sites.
Deal sites are sometimes specific to a community (Deals for Boston), specific to a sector (Mobile Phone Deals) or specific to a country (Deals of India). Identifying a correct place to place their advertising campaigns can significantly increase the return on investment.
