David Hogan (missionary)
David L. Hogan is an American Christian evangelical missionary, currently working in Mexico. He believes in preaching an "uncompromising Gospel" of Jesus Christ with the accompanying of miraculous signs of the power of the Holy Ghost.
Early life and conversion
David Hogan was born in North Louisiana (1950?) to Christian parents. During his late teenage years, he rebelled against the church due to the hypocrisy he saw. He soon turned to drinking and gang violence as a LifeStyle and found employment in oilfields.
It was in transit to an oilfield in Alaska that he says he had a life changing encounter with God. On an airplane, an audible conversation took place between himself and God, causing him to accept God's challenge to follow God and not follow the example of hypocrisy that the Christian church represented. Hogan knelt in the aisle mid-flight, repented of his sins and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. 1
Early ministry
After Hogan's conversion, he and his wife Debbie established and pastored a church in North Louisiana. In 1977 God spoke to both David and Debbie, and instructed them to move to Mexico and start ministering to people in an area approximately 75 miles south-west of Tampico. They call their ministry Freedom Ministries.
Miracles and criticism
Freedom Ministries have reportedly seen upwards of 400 Mexican Indians raised from the dead. Hogan claims to have witnessed 28 of these dead-raisings. They also claim to have experienced instances of food being instantly multiplied, non-existent limbs growing out, plague cured and cancerous tumors disappearing. Hogan has encountered fierce resistance and criticism from various Christian groups, who either do not believe the miracles or insist that he is too extreme.

Biblical commission
Freedom Ministry is based on the Great Commission, given from Jesus to His disciples: Preach the Gospel, heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons - Matthew 10:8
