David Daniels (entrepreneur)
David Daniels is an American entrepreneur, writer, businessman and blogger from Long Island, New York. Background
The middle child of 3 boys, Daniels frequently compares and contrasts the differences between generation X, Y and the Millennials on his blog. Daniels has lived on Long Island his entire life, considers Generation X the last generation to grow up with a traditional childhood, free of the internet, and considers himself a digital immigrant.
Early Career
After graduating high school in 1989, Daniels went on to attend Nassau Community College and then started working for CVS Pharmacy. Daniels worked his way up to being one of the top managers in his field within a few years at which time he dropped out of college to concentrate on his full time career. In 1997 CVS bought out Revco Pharmacy and in 1998, Daniels was chosen to head up a team of trainers to train former Revco managers, introducing CVS management styles and technologies. As an Ambassador to Revco on behalf of CVS he spent many months traveling the deep south, ensuring a successful transition. In 2001, Daniels moved on to another rapidly growing company, Staples, where he managed there for a few years before deciding a career change was needed and headed back to school to finish his education.
Career Transition
After graduating from Nassau Community College in 2004 with an AS in Accounting, Daniels landed a job with Liberty Mutual Insurance. While in the insurance industry, Daniels went on to complete a BS in Business Administration, graduating Cum Laud in Spring of 2008. During the economic downturn of 2007 - 2010, Daniels job was eliminated. Far from being directionless, Daniels volunteered his time to the NYC Department Of Consumer Affairs, Office of Financial Empowerment, spent time working his personal blog and has hinted at a major project coming up that he may announce on his blog within the next coming months. His plans are to attend Queens College to pursue an MBA and then test for the CPA exam. The current economic climate has put these plans on hold temporarily.
