D.A.V Public School, Mahuda
D.A.V Public School, Mahuda, or DAV Mahuda, was established on July 12, 1993 as an English medium co-educational school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, India. The school is run by the DAV college managing committee, New Delhi, a non-profit making society. Mr Singh was the first principal of the school. Mr A.K Singh is the present Principal.
History
The school was founded on 12 July 1993 under Shree N.D. Grover the then director Ranchi Zone and under the all out assistance of the then G.M BCCL, Mahuda area Shree Manash Ranjan Bhattacharya. There was Immense contribution And Co-operation of the people of this area, BCCL and DAV CMC. The school started with just 350 tiny tots and since then it has never looked back. The school has shown commendable achievement throughout both in academic and co-curricular activities and has earned the laurels of being placed in the very good category of schools at national level by the CBSE.
The INCredible and praiseworthy result of std X exam has earned top position among the DAV schools and 7th position among the CBSE affiliated schools of the state on the basis of the number of students securing CGPA 10. Out of its 103 students 35 students scored CGPA 10 and none of the students scored less than CGPA 7. Adhering to the New Education policy of CBSE which believes in that fact the education is not merely finishing course, conducting exam and declaring result, a number of innovative measures have been initiated after taking over the charge by its Hon’ble Principal in April 2010.
Efforts
- Efforts have been made to build stronger bonds among teachers, parents and students who provide critical feedback and help to grow the school in a holistic way.
- Parents are exhorted to offer suggestions to the institution for all round development of the school. A reliable value based interaction between parents and teachers is being promoted.
- Within a few years the school has regained its lost glory and confidence as a result the strength of the school has gone up to more than 1600. Had there been rooms in spare the strength would have gone up to more than 1800. Admissions of some 250 students could not be taken due to shortage of rooms.
Academic achievements
The school has broken all the previous records and established its new identity and recognition among the DAV’s of this area. There is always scope for improvement and it still hopes to emulate and excel. Every care is taken to infuse confidence and positivity in its students. As a result, most of them if given the right support and direction are capable of cracking any prestigious exam of the country. Many students of the school have qualified exams like IIT, CBSE Medical, AIEEE etc.
Moreover, the moral fibre infuse in the schoo's students will never let them down in their life.
Innovations in education
Some academic and administrative innovations have been implemented by the school's Principal based on the slogan “A person who can spark a love of learning in students is more than just a teacher and that person is a true mentor”. The most important academic innovation, which has already started yielding results, is building a non-threatening and salubrious environment both among the staff members and among the students, which keeps them motivated in quest of excellence.
Supports the students
An atmosphere has been created under the guidance of the Hon’ble Principal to solve academic or non-academic problems in an amicable and persuasive manner and with a human touch. The Principal interacts with students both inside and outside the classrooms to diagnose problems and also to encourage and motivate students. Guardians and parents are always welcome to visit the school and their suggestions are entertained with us open mind.
Activities
Apart from their achievements, various inter-house competitions like debates, essays, skit, music and dance etc. are held as a part of co-scholastic activities which are given due weightage in the new CCE curriculum of the CBSE. The school is in constant pursuit of excellence and balanced growth of teachers and students.

- Sanyog Kumar, a digital boy who works in Wikipedia, local guide in Google maps, writer of upcoming book Encounter with Coincidence and secured AIR 1904 in JEE Mains paper 2 2016.
- Bikram Kumar, secured AIR 5000~ in IIT JEE advanced 2016.
- Randhir Kumar Sharma who secured 95.2% aggregate in AISSCE 2016 and is in trip to Singapore by his school and secured OBC AIR 8000 in JEE mains 2016.
