Daubert Institute for Science & Law
The Daubert Institute for Science & Law, currently known as Daubert Institute For Psychology & Psychiatry, is a California corporation founded in 2002 to study the impact on psychological and psychiatric testimony by The New standard of evidence set unanimously by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1993 in Daubert v. Merrell Dow Pharmeceuticals, Inc.. This new standard of evidence has become embodied in the Federal Rules of Evidence 702 and more than fifty states have adopted the standard or some version of it to date. The setting of this scientific standard that now applies to all expert testimony is considered one of the most significant decisions ever made by the Highest Court.
Associates of the Institute are experts on the scientific foundation of clinical psychology and psychiatry and publishes articles in legal journals. The Institute provides freeseminars to law firms, corporate legal departments and governmental departments of justice. Institute associates also give free information to individuals and citizen groups on mental disabilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
