DataDome was founded in 2015 by Benjamin Fabre and Fabien Grenier and is headquartered in New York City.

The company’s platform uses machine learning and behavioral analysis to detect and block automated traffic. It evaluates requests based on IP reputation, device fingerprinting, and user behavior. Its services include bot detection, account protection, fraud prevention. and DDoS mitigation.

Funding rounds include €2.5 million in 2017 led by ISAI and 50 Partners Capital, $35 million in series B funding in 2021 led by Elephant, and $42 million in series C funding in 2023 led by InfraVia Growth.

In 2024, DataDome introduced Device Check, a tool that analyzes device signals to detect bots and reduce reliance on CAPTCHA. The company also launched Ad Protect and Account Protect, and expanded its public bug bounty program with YesWeHack.

A 2024 report by DataDome found that 68% of U.S. websites lacked protection against basic automated attacks. The platform integrates with cloud and on-premises systems, including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
