Dash In began in 1979, when the Wills Group opened its first convenience store in Annapolis, Maryland. In 1981, the company opened its first full-size Dash In store in Laurel, Maryland. The store sold food such as fried chicken and potato wedges alongside convenience store products.

Over the years, Dash In expanded into more locations across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The company developed its food menu and introduced new store designs. It also focused more on freshly prepared meals and made-to-order food.

In the 2010s and 2020s, Dash In introduced newer stores with updated interiors, larger food preparation areas, and spaces for customers to eat. Its menu includes burgers, breakfast meals, salads, and snacks. The company continues to operate as part of the Wills Group.
