Daniyal Waseem
Daniyal Waseem (Arabic: دانيال وسیم ) (born 9 September 1982) is a Pakistani Journalist. He is the Editor and Founder of Viral Bits. Initially Waseem worked with Daily Awam and experienced covering war fronts many times. He has intensive research on Talibanisation of South Asia and Afghan War issues. He traveled several times to Kashmir conflict zones and been to Asian College of Journalism Chennai India and International Institute of Journalism Berlin, Germany.
Early life
Daniyal Waseem is the eldest son of Ahmed, Waseem. He was born in Quetta provincial capital of Balochistan, Pakistan. Waseem finished his schooling from St. Mary's High School, Quetta Balouchistan and had his Post Graduate Degree in Mass Communication from University of Balochistan. After that he started working for Daily Public, an evening Urdu daily newspaper from Quetta which later become morning daily in English Language.
Assassination attempt
Daniyal Waseem and his family survived many attacks to their lives. In October 2008 a powerful bomb exploded next to the wall of his personal chamber in the offices of Awam Group of Publications in Quetta, Pakistan in which 7 employees of the newspaper received serious injuries. In those days the issue of Rediff Pakistan was also in controversy and some security officials indicated the involvement of Indian elements in the blast. He moved to Germany while he was on A Tour and received multiple life threats from extremist religious groups.
Notable activities
Daniyal Waseem is one of the founder members Origin Community Development Organisation and worked in many field projects of the organisation including the free medical and food camps for the people of remote areas in Kharan and Chaghai districts of Balochistan. He is well known for raising his voice against child labor and issues of [...] abuses in Pakistan.
